Feature & Follow Friday

I'm so excited to be Alison Can Read 's feature blogger for the Feature & Follow Friday she hosts with Rachel at  Parajunkee.

This week's question:

Q:  What is the longest book you've read? What are your favorite 600+ page reads?

I'd have to say the longest book I've read would have to be The Lord of the Rings.  While I originally read (with the help of my mom and grandma) an earlier printing, I received the hard copy set like the one pictured below for Christmas one year, which I will forever cherish.
 The Lord of the Rings
While I really enjoyed The Lord of the Rings, my favorite 600+ page book is Harry Potter & the Deathly Hallows.  I'm sure many of you will have this one listed too, but it really is one of my favorites.  I stated reading Harry Potter in college as a class requirement and was hooked.  Then I talked about it so much I convinced my mom to read them too.  It was something we could always talk about and saw 5 of the movies together over the years.
Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows

Don't forget to stop by Parajunkee's site to visit the other featured blog.

Now for the ins & outs of the Feature & Follow Friday:
As the name says, there is a feature on each of the hosts sites (Parajunkee & Alison Can Read) and you follow the two features and then visit other blogs in the hop and meet new people.
Here are the specifics:

RULES

To join the fun and make new book blogger friends, just follow these simple rules:
  1. (Required) Follow the Follow My Book Blog Friday Hosts {Parajunkee & Alison Can Read}
  2. (Required) Follow our Featured Bloggers
  3. Put your Blog name & URL in the Linky thing. You can also grab the code if you would like to insert it into your posts.
  4. Grab the button up there and place it in a post, this post is for people to find a place to say “hi” in your comments and that they are now following you.
  5. If you are using WordPress or another CMS that doesn’t have GFC (Google Friends Connect) state in your posts how you would like to be followed
  6. Follow Follow Follow as many as you can, as many as you want, or just follow a few. The whole point is to make new friends and find new blogs. Also, don’t just follow, comment and say hi. Another blogger might not know you are a new follower if you don’t say “HI”
  7. If someone comments and says they are following you, be a dear and follow back. Spread the Love…and the followers
  8. If you’re new to the follow friday hop, comment and let me know, so I can stop by and check out your blog!
I just wanted to say THANKS to all my new followers and for stopping by.  Since I'm a teacher and can't comment during the day, if I don't make it by your post today, I promise to stop by your FF at some point this weekend! THANKS & have a GREAT WEEKEND!

  1. New follower! I agree with you on Harry Potter. I love that series, but it's the only really long series I've ever read. Young adult usually never has anything like that anymore. :)

  7. Yep I just realized Harry Potter will be a really popular answer. It's not mine though yay!! I wish I had a class where reading Harry Potter is a requirement lol. Although there is a English class here where they read Twilight. That counts.

I'm probably the only person who hasn't read the Harry Potter Series at all. After seeing the movies, I couldn't read the books. I probably will read them in a couple of years, but for now, I just can't.

  31. Thanks for stopping by Babies, Books, and Signs. I loooove LOTR and Harry Potter. Where did you go to school that you were required to read Harry Potter? I'm jealous. I did get to read LOTR for college though, I took a class called The Epic and the Quest.

  32. I’ve read The Lord of the Rings too but I don’t think I can count it because I had the trilogy as three separate books. I’m sorry to say I’m not a long book fan. (My attention wanders.) The last of the Harry Potter books are probably the longest I’ve read (that I can remember).

Congrats on being this week’s feature!
