Review:
WOW! It has been a couple weeks since I read Throne of Glass and it is still rolling around in my head. I received an ARC at TLA and had it in my classroom at the end of the school year. When done with a test one of my students asked if she could read it and she returned it the next day saying: "YOU HAVE TO READ THIS ONE, IT WAS AWESOME!". Even though I had planned on reading it this summer, her gushing about it just moved it up on my TBR pile.
I was immediately drawn into the world Sarah created in Throne of Glass and loved the shear determination to live that Celaena possessed. The fact that there was a strong female character that could take care of herself and still loved the "girly" things in life was well written into the story. The mystery about who was killing off the other competitors kept the action going and the reader guessing. There are several questions that I have after reading the Throne of Glass, but knowing there will be another book leads me to believe those questions will eventually be answered. I was so wrapped up in the characters emotions and the world itself, I didn't want the book to end. Luckily, I discovered there were 4 novellas to be released that would give a bit of a Celaena's story before Throne of Glass.
Now, I don't want to give away too much, but I know there will be talk of are you Team Dorian or Team Chaol, but after reading the novellas, I wish Team Sam was an option. If you are a fan of fantasy then you must head out to your local bookstore and pick up a copy TODAY!
