This Friday's Question:
Summer Love: Where is your ideal place to take a
summer vacation & get lost in a book?
What a great question! If my pre-married self answered this question, it would by far be the Rose Garden in Salzburg, Austria. I had to chance travel across the pond after my first year teaching and fell in love with Austria. I did spend several hours in that rose garden reading and writing in a journal. I would love to go back some day when my son could enjoy the history of the trip. (as soon as I find my pictures I will add one to this post)
Now that I'm married with an energetic little boy, my ideal summer vacation place where I could get lost in a book would probably be a beach (outside of Texas, I love my home state, but not the best beaches) so the guys can play in the water while I soak up some much needed vitamin D and read. Or, if I we stayed close, then anywhere in the Hill Country of Texas where I can hear the water running and birds chirping while I read.
It all sounds great. I'm not sure I would be able to do much reading if I were in Austria. There's so much to see. It's on my list of places to visit some day! (I love the Sound of Music!)
ReplyDeleteQuiet time is divine. I love going to the beach as well. So relaxing. :)

Those sound like good places to go. I am a little sand phobic, hate it when it gets in my toes.
