TGIF....Hosted by GReads

This Friday's Question:

Summer Love: Where is your ideal place to take a
summer vacation & get lost in a book?

What a great question!  If my pre-married self answered this question, it would by far be the Rose Garden in Salzburg, Austria.  I had to chance travel across the pond after my first year teaching and fell in love with Austria.  I did spend several hours in that rose garden reading and writing in a journal.  I would love to go back some day when my son could enjoy the history of the trip.  (as soon as I find my pictures I will add one to this post)
Now that I'm married with an energetic little boy, my ideal summer vacation place where I could get lost in a book would probably be a beach (outside of Texas, I love my home state, but not the best beaches) so the guys can play in the water while I soak up some much needed vitamin D and read.  Or, if I we stayed close, then anywhere in the Hill Country of Texas where I can hear the water running and birds chirping while I read.

  1. It all sounds great. I'm not sure I would be able to do much reading if I were in Austria. There's so much to see. It's on my list of places to visit some day! (I love the Sound of Music!)

  3. Those sound like good places to go. I am a little sand phobic, hate it when it gets in my toes.
