WOW: Indigo Awakening

Waiting on Wednesday is a weekly meme hosted by Jill over at Breaking the Spine and is a great way to share a book you CAN"T WAIT for and to discover a few new ones along the way.

This week I'm Waiting on the first book in The Hunted series by Jordan Dane, Indigo Awakening

Because of what you are, the Believers will hunt you down.
Voices told Lucas Darby to run. Voices no one else can hear. He’s warned his sister not to look for him, but Rayne refuses to let her troubled brother vanish on the streets of LA. In her desperate search, she meets Gabriel Stewart, a runaway with mysterious powers and far too many secrets. Rayne can’t explain her crazy need to trust the strange yet compelling boy—to touch him—to protect him even though he scares her.
A fanatical church secretly hunts psychic kids—gifted “Indigo” teens feared to be the next evolution of mankind—for reasons only “the Believers” know. Now Rayne’s only hope is Gabe, who is haunted by an awakening power—a force darker than either of them imagine—that could doom them all.

Waiting on Wednesday is a weekly meme hosted by Jill over at Breaking the Spine and is a great way to share a book you CAN"T WAIT for and to discover a few new ones along the way.

My WOW this week is the fourth book in a series that I've had for a few months and have just recently DEVOURED!  If you like paranormal/ supernatural stories then I highly recommend you check out the Shadow Falls Series by C.C. Hunter.

Release date: October 2, 2012
Publisher: St. Martin's Griffin

A breathtaking new installment of the bestselling Shadow Falls series for young adults by rising star C. C. Hunter!

She doesn’t have a clue what her heritage means or how to harness her newfound powers. All she knows is that she needs to sort out her feelings for Derek, the sexy half-Fae who just confessed his love, and Lucas, her werewolf boyfriend who seems more committed to his pack than to their relationship. All the while, Kylie's dealing with a group of underground rogues who want her dead and a mysterious grandfather who makes it clear he doesn’t trust the FRU . . . or Shadow Falls. WOW: Awry

Waiting on Wednesday or WOW is hosted by Jill over at Breaking the Spine .
This week my WOW pick is one that I won't have to wait too long for since it will be released on June 12th!

Awry is the second book in The Archers of Avalon series.  If you haven't read Anew (book 1 yet), you have plenty of time to read it (about a week) before book two comes out.
A little about Awry:
Sometimes love is meant to be. But sometimes love...is the death of you....
Seventeen-year-old Scarlet has just died. Only, dying isn't unusual for a girl under a centuries old curse that left her semi-immortal.
This time, though, she comes back to her current life instead of awaking in a new one, and she realizes the curse is changing. Together with the immortal Archer brothers, Scarlet must piece together her life and try to break the curse before her impending death comes again.

Waiting On Wednesday

My WOW this week is The Mephisto Kiss!

I case you missed the cover reveal a couple weeks ago, I couldn't resist sharing the summary and cover again.  I can't wait to read this one because I LOVED The Mephisto Covenant and really can't wait to see what happens next!

The eyes never lie. No one’s eyes are darker than Eryx. Not even the Devil’s.

When Jax and Sasha first see Jordan Ellis, they know she is no ordinary teenager. She’s the daughter of the President after all, but she’s also Anabo – a descendant of Eve.

What they don’t know is that Eryx plans to kidnap Jordan and force President Ellis to pledge his soul. If Eryx’s plot succeeds, the consequences would be catastrophic.

But the Mephisto brothers do know about Jordan’s secret identity. And for one of them, she could be the match that leads to their soul’s salvation.

Now it’s a desperate race against time to save Jordan and prevent Eryx’s haunting eyes from discovering her true identity.

A thrilling story of romance, danger, and intrigue, THE MEPHISTO KISS continues the marvelous mythology that began in THE MEPHISTO COVENANT.

Waiting On Wednesday

Waiting on Wednesday (WoW) is a weekly meme hosted by Jill over at Breaking the Spine.  This is a great way so share the books you are patiently or not so patiently waiting on and find a few others to add to your "Waiting On" list.

This week I'm waiting on Black City by Elizabeth Richards.  After seeing the cover reveal a couple weeks ago and reading the first chapter I was HOOKED!  I can't wait to read this one when it comes out on November 13, 2012.

Summary:
In a city where humans and Darklings are now separated by a high wall and tensions between the two races still simmer after a terrible war, sixteen-year-olds Ash Fisher, a half-blood Darkling, and Natalie Buchanan, a human and the daughter of the Emissary, meet and do the unthinkable—they fall in love. Bonded by a mysterious connection, that causes Ash’s long dormant heart to beat, Ash and Natalie first deny and then struggle to fight their forbidden feelings for each other, knowing if they’re caught they’ll be executed—but their feelings are too strong. When Ash and Natalie then find themselves at the center of a deadly conspiracy that threatens to pull the humans and Darklings back into war, they must make hard choices that could result in both their deaths.

Waiting On Wendsday

Waiting On Wednesday is a weekly meme hosted by Jill at Breaking The Spine where you can share a book that you are anxiously waiting to be released.

Austin Parker is on a journey to bring truth, beauty, and meaning to his life.
Austin Parker is never going to see his eighteenth birthday. At the rate he’s going, he probably won’t even see the end of the year. The doctors say his chances of surviving are slim to none even with treatment, so he’s decided it’s time to let go.
But before he goes, Austin wants to mend the broken fences in his life. So with the help of his best friend, Kaylee, Austin visits every person in his life who touched him in a special way. He journeys to places he’s loved and those he’s never seen. And what starts as a way to say goodbye turns into a personal journey that brings love, acceptance, and meaning to Austin’s life.
Why I'm waiting for this book:
We all have experiences in our lives that shape who we are.  I've lost more family members and friends than I can count on both hands. I've also seen many overcome unbelievable odds (mom is still here 3 years after they gave her six months to live with Leukemia).  In high school I volunteered one summer with the Muscular Dystrophy Association (aka Jerry's Kids) and I'm still doing things with them after being a camp counselor for 10 years.  Seeing young kids live despite never knowing what it was like to walk makes you appreciate what you have.  While I haven't read this book yet, I have a feeling I may need a few tissues, but that's fine by me.  I can't WAIT to read Never Eighteen.

Waiting on Wednesday

Waiting on Wednesday is a weekly meme hosted by Breaking the Spine.

This fall is FULL of amazing books coming out!  This week I'm waiting on the long awaited (at least for me) second book in the Matched Trilogy:

Crossed
by Ally Condie
Release Date: November 1, 2011

  Summary:
In search of a future that may not exist and faced with the decision of who to share it with, Cassia journeys to the Outer Provinces in pursuit of Ky - taken by the Society to his certain death - only to find that he has escaped, leaving a series of clues in his wake.

Cassia's quest leads her to question much of what she holds dear, even as she finds glimmers of a different life across the border. But as Cassia nears resolve and certainty about her future with Ky, an invitation for rebellion, an unexpected betrayal, and a surprise visit from Xander - who may hold the key to the uprising and, still, to Cassia's heart - change the game once again. Nothing is as expected on the edge of Society, where crosses and double crosses make the path more twisted than ever.
